Acronia #

Acronia is a 2D run ‘n’ gun platformer for MS-DOS inspired by action games like Contra, Duke Nukem, and Bio Menace. You play as employees of a private military contractor and security firm called “Acronia.” Behind the scenes and unbeknownst to you, Acronia has been conducting genetic experiments on humans as part of an illicit weapons research and development program. Due to an accident, the facility you work at has been overrun by mutants. Your only goal is to escape, and kill any monsters that try to stop you.

In development #

Acronia has been in development since July 2019. Efforts began to ramp up the following January, with the goal of a digital and physical release on actual floppy disks. The game runs on real DOS hardware and targets a 386 or better processor with VGA graphics.
This release of Acronia is a demo, and there’s still a lot of work to do until the final release. But for the first time in its development, it’s a fully-playable (if small) game, with its full feature set, including monsters, diverse levels, music and sound, and more. We encourage you to try it out and comment here, or follow us on social media to stay up to date on its development.
